A jewel of a neighborhood North Beach boasts the most restaurants and great walking streets in SF. From the views from Coit Tower to the murals within, North Beach somehow manages to retain all its charm, even for those lucky enough to reside there. The Club Fugazzi hosts the famous show Beach Blanket Babylon, theres blues on Grant Street, Savoy Tivoli on Grant st, the famous Tosca's bar on Columbus( great for local celeb sightings), Enricos on Broadway for food, jazz and a late night drink, and one of my favorites the amazing Bimbos night club. With red leather booths and a vintage ladies room Bimbos has great acoustics too. If you have guests in town Coit Tower is a must see as well as of course crooked Lombard street- and the best view of Alcatraz The Buena Vista cafe near Ghiradelli Square is the birth place of the Irish Coffee and a great place to have fun anytime. Of course Washington Square is the hub of North Beach and a must see as well as Cafe Divine across the street. |
